FlexCAD isn't seeing the license

Verify that SentinelLM is running on the server as a process or a service. If it is not currently running, open a Windows Explorer and browse to the C:\Idsnet\ folder on the server. To run SentinelLM as a process, double-click lservnt.exe; as a service, double-click loadls.bat and then verify the service is running and set to AUTOMATIC.

Once SentinelLM is running, run WLMAdmin.exe from the server. In WLMAdmin.exe select View >> All in Subnet from the pull-down menus. Verify that it returns a server with valid licenses. Close WLMAdmin.exe if the correct number of licenses is shown. If there are no licenses or an incorrect number of licenses shown, make a copy of the FCNLOLIC.txt file located in the same directory and then rename it to FCNLOLICbak.txt. Run ECHOID.exe; which will create a new FCNLOLIC.txt. Then open the new FCNLOLIC.txt and FCNLOLICbak.txt to compare them.  If any of the lines after 2-XXXX are different, you will have to redo the NLO Installation.

If all the entries are the same, go to the client machine. First, verify that the server is visible from the client machine. If the server is able to be seen from the client, do the following:

1. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties
2. Click the Advanced tab
3. Click Environment variables
4. Click New for System Variable

The variable name should be LSFORCEHOST, and the variable value should be the name or the IP address of the server. Using the IP address value could possibly result in faster license detection because of the lack of a DNS lookup, however it is rarely ever a noticeable difference. After this step, launch FlexCAD to verify the client machine is seeing the license.

After the previous steps have been complete, if the license is still not seen by the client machine, verify that the server isn't on a different subnet than the client machine. If they are on different subnets, make sure to add the server-name to the client's windows host file.

Windows XP
c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

Windows NT/2000
c:\winnt\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

In this file, a line will need to be added with: [IP Address] [tab] [Host Name]

If the client machine still cannot find the correct license file, try to ping the IP address or server name of the license server. If the ping cannot find the server then there is a network configuration problem that must be resolved by your IT department.

If the IP address returns a successful ping but not the server name then there is a problem with network domain name resolution. To resolve this, either make sure all references to the license server use the IP address, or have your IT department check the domain name server being used.

Look at what our customers have to say about PI Integrated and FlexCAD:

We utilize it on a daily basis on several of our projects. The program is easy to learn and use, therefore making training minimal. In just a few days a new user can be up to speed with PI Integrated’s software. That means the employee can be productive in a short amount of time. If a person has some practical experience and some basic CAD experience, he can come in and contribute very quickly.”

Ronnie Theriot,
Richard Design Services

We chose the FlexCAD products because they’re cost effective and simple to use. All the applications work together. We felt like we could speed up production, which we did. Also, we went to a new operating system at our plant, and it was less costly to buy the FlexCAD software than to upgrade what we were already using. Whenever the designers have questions, they can get the help they need directly from PI Integrated’s developers, rather than having to pass-through an intermediary. They work well with us. “If FlexCAD meets our needs, it will meet the needs of others as well.”

Brandon David,
Sasol North America

It’s very simple, user-friendly, and all the operators like it. When a new person comes in and they call up the program, I don’t have to spend a lot of time teaching them. In a day or two, they can be drawing ISOs and other things with no problems.”

Ron Sasser (retired),
Huntsman

PI Integrated delivers highly usable off-the-shelf products for plant design – they’ve worked closely with us in tailoring those products to our requirements including a new project interface that stores drawings in project folders and allows our project managers and engineers to view designs in progress with free Autodesk downloadable viewers.”

Chris Westmoreland,
Commonwealth
