Smooth zoom variables
AutoCAD 2006 started the smooth zoom feature which animates zoom and view changes in AutoCAD. There are three AutoCAD system variables that control this function: VTENABLE - turns it on and off; VTDURATION - controls the length of the animation; VTFPS - sets the frames per second of the animation (affects the quality of the animation.)

How to configure plot stamps
In AutoCAD, type PLOTSTAMP on the command line and hit enter. This will bring up a window to configure the plot stamp [view screenshot].

Dialog boxes aren't showing during AutoCAD commands
Type FILEDIA on the command line and hit enter. Make sure its value is set to 1.

Setting mouse right-click to repeat last command
Type OPTIONS or CONFIG on the command line and hit enter. Within the Preferences tab, click the Right Click Customization button. Change the Default Mode to Repeat Last Command [view screenshot].

Selection box is too small when trying to erase or select objects
Type PICKBOX on the command line and hit enter. The default for this value is 3; a higher value makes it larger and vice versa.

Can't see CTB files
If there are no visible STB files during plot settings, type CONVERTPSTYLES on the command and then hit enter. This will bring up a dialog box to choose the STB files to convert.

Turning on/off dynamic input
In AutoCAD 2006/2007, Autodesk introduced dynamic input. This basically makes the command line follow the mouse cursor. To turn this on/off simply click the DYN button at the bottom of the AutoCAD window.

'Proxy information' dialog box after opening drawing
The drawing was created in AutoCAD 2006/2007, and Autodesk admits there is no way to remove the proxy graphics from the drawing when it is saved to an earlier drawing format. In the earlier version of AutoCAD, set the system variable PROXYNOTICE to 0; in order to supress this dialog box.
